Dear Parents and Students:
Greetings! I am very excited to introduce myself to you as the new principal of St. Martin de Porres School. Each summer brings us the opportunity to pause and take a breath and reflect on the successes of the previous school year. While I was not with you last year, I certainly appreciate the difficulties of the unexpected onset of the pandemic, nation-wide shut down, and the launching of virtual learning at home. As an educator and principal, I marvel at the amazing work of our teachers and their ability to learn to teach through a computer in a matter of days! As a parent of an eight and an eleven-year old, I recognize that juggling home life, professional life, and instantly becoming an at-home teacher is overwhelming!
As I settle into my new role as principal, my primary task ahead is to get to know the school culture and prepare for the year ahead. Regardless of what our new “normal” will be in the fall, I promise you: we are going to have a great year! We will challenge ourselves to be the best we can possibly be and, together, we will achieve greatness. I recognize the significant sacrifice you make to send your child to a private, Catholic school. Our teachers and staff are committed to ensuring that your child receives the best possible education, has opportunities to grow spiritually and socially, and has fun! We are your partners and, under my leadership, Saint Martin de Porres will continue to be a place of academic innovation, support for each family and child, and rooted in Catholic values where we embrace peoples of all ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds.
On behalf of all of the teachers and staff, I thank you for choosing Saint Martin de Porres! We are always here for you. Please have a safe and restful summer and we look forward to seeing each of you in August!
